WAY Back Wednesday…

WAY Capital successfully closed $68 million in construction financing for the Niumalu Marketplace project located in Kailua-Kona on Hawaii’s Big Island.
The financing provided funds for the construction, lease-up and stabilization of the project and was backed by a seasoned sponsorship team with extensive experience in retail development. The closing marked a significant milestone in bringing one of Kona’s most notable new retail centers to life.
The project consists of a 204k SF, Safeway-anchored shopping center situated on a 20-acre parcel. With a mix of grocery, gas, restaurant, and in-line retail tenants, the project was strategically designed to serve both the local community and the island’s strong visitor base. Positioned at one of the area’s busiest intersections, Niumalu Marketplace brings an institutional-quality retail destination to a supply-constrained market, ensuring long-term value for tenants and the community alike.
